I have blogged the past month or so about the new EXAIR Softball team. It is composed of members from almost every department in the company and we practice once a week then we play one game a week. This weeks game was against another team who was stacked with people that have played softball way longer than we have. Needless to say, the other team came out on top, however, we didn’t quit or go out without a fight.
At the end of the 3rd inning we were in risk of getting shut out by the other team. Then for the 4th inning we rallied and pulled in three runs. When it came our turn to bat again we pulled in six more runs. It was pretty amazing seeing the look on some of the other teams faces when they realized that we were able to pull together and rally.
In the end we still lost. While we didn’t get the mercy rule called we did not come back to beat the other team. However, there wasn’t a single head hung low, we were all proud that we had scored the most runs for a game so far, along with turned a double play, got a tag out at home, and really pulled together in the infield. The trick was, we couldn’t rely on just one person.
Because we worked as a team we were able to keep the game alive and show that we were dedicated to the game. We use the same mentality here in the office. If I get a call from a customer about an application I haven’t seen before or something I may not be 100% sure of, then I turn to my teammates. In this office alone we have team members with over 40 years of experience in our field. Every one of us has our own niche area of expertise also.
So chances are, if you have the compressed air application, we have probably seen it and know how to improve it.
Feel free to give it a shot, call, email, tweet, or Facebook us.
